Seven photographs of Wasserberger and 67 photographs of his paintings, are held in the Archives and Special Collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. Originally from Chrzanów, Poland, he survived the Holocaust and emigrated to the United States in 1946 or 1947.
